ليست الميتافيزيقا هنا مبحثاً في الفلسفة. هذا فهم ميتافيزيقي للميتافيزيقيا. الميتافيزيقيا لحظات نداء الوجود، وهي "لا تحضر" في كلام الفلسفة فقط. إنها حاضرة من مختلف إبداعات الانسان فوق سطح الكوكب الأرضي أو في ما يحاول القيام به الآن خارج هذا الكوكب. الميتافيزيقيا بنية الوجود. الميتافيزيقيا، كما ذهب كانط إلى ذلك ، حقيقة ارتبطت بجلدة الانسان وأسست ماهية علاقته بالوجود. الميتافيزيقيا هي التربة التي تهيأت معا شروط تخلي الفكر عن ماهيته.
لقد تكلمت الميتافيزيقيا بلسان عباقرة التاريخ. والافت للنظر أنها عملت، طيلة تاريخها، على تأسيس الفكر على العقل مختزلة إياه إلى مجدر "راسيو". لذلك اعتبرت المنطق هو المقياس الوحيد للحقيقة، كما عملت أيضاً على نبذ كل من الشعر والخيال والحواس، الشيء الذي جعل الفكر يغادر مسقط رأسه ليتحول إلى تقنية، ستتجلى قوتها بالملموس ابتداءاً مع العصر الحديث. هذا الفكر التقني هو ما يحدد اليوم نوعية علاقة الإنسان في كل الأصقاع بالوجود. وبهذا أضحت التقنية فكراً كونياً يريد أن يكون هوية لجميع الهويات، فكراً ما كان يكتسح، ليس الإنسان الأوروبي فقط، وإنما يكتسح الإنسان أينما كان فوق الكوكب الأرضي. من هنا جنون هذا الفكر الذي شكلت الميتافيزيقيا تربته. وهو الفكر الذي حاول هيدجر أن يثير إنتباهنا إليه من خلال حواراته لتاريخ الفلسفة وحواره للعصر. على أساس ذلك ورطنا في أسئلته: ما الميتافيزيقيا؟ ما هذا الذي نسميه فكراً؟ ما الشيء؟ ما مهمة الفكر بعد نهاية الميتافيزيقيا؟
