كلنا نتذكر بأن تطوير المهارة يحتاج إلى التكرار فكلما زادت عدد مرات لمس الكرة كلما تحسنت عند اللاعب ضاهرة لمس الكرة علماً بأن الكثير من المدربين يستخدم الألعاب المصغرة لتطوير المفاهيم الفنية لفرقهم، كما يمكننا القول من دون تردد بأن الزيادة في لمس اللاعب للكرة تعني الزيادة في المشاركة الفعالة في النشاط أو الفعالية، وبالتالي الزيادة في المتعة من خلال اللعب.
هناك دراسة مهمة بواسطة المدرب (كلين بوكللي) أجريت على عدد لمس الكرة خلال اللعب بطريقة (4 ضد 4) مقارنة مع طريقة اللعب (11 ضد 11) وقد تم تقويم ثلاث مباريات مختلفة وكان مستوى اللاعبين متوسط من الأعمار (10 و 11) سنة وقد سجلت النتائج التي ستغير من أفكار من يقف ضد الألعاب المصغرة.
