هذه شعبة موسومة بالملاهي والملاعب ما يحل منها وما يحرم من شعب الإيمان, فكل لهو نص الشارع على إباحته وحله, أو أقره فهو حلال, وكل لهو نص الشارع على حرمته, أو لم يقرّه في زمنه فهو حرام, وكل لهو لم ينص عليه الشارع بحلٍ ولا حرمة, واشترك مع اللهو المنصوص عليه في العلة أخذ حكمه في الحل أو في الحرمة, وكل لهو كان دليل حرمته ضعيفاً فهو داخل في حكم المشتبهات التي نص عليها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في الحديث الصحيح: (إن الحلال بيّن وإن الحرام بيّن وبينهما أمور مشتبهات). وكل لهو لم ينص عليه الشارع بحلٍ أو حرمة مما استحدث من الملاهي, ولم يشترك مع اللهو المنصوص عليه في العلة وكان فيه تضييع نفوس بغير فائدة فهو حرام. وكان من أهم ما تناوله الكتاب: اللهو الذي نص على إباحته وحله, الرمي, الجري, الضرب بالدف, اللهو الذي نص الشارع على تحريمه, النرد, الشطرنج, اقتناء الطيور, الغناء, المعازف, اللهو الذي لم ينص عليه الشارع بحل أو حرمة, المصارعة, رفع الأثقال, السباحة, اللعب بالبنات والعرائس.
