صنعت قوت القلوب سلماً من الكراسي، وتسلقته، فوصلت إلى النافذة، وتملت الأفق الأبيض الساحر، وأخذت بزوغه المشهد، وكانت تلك أول مرة يلمس بزوغ الشمس بضوئه جسدها الأبيض الرقيق، وكانت تلك أول مرة ترى فيها شجراً يزفل بالأشعة وأنهاراً تغسل شعرها وملابسها في الحرير المتدفق من الأدغال المصهودة بأشعة الشمس وسحباً حبلى بقطرات الماء الذهبية.
ورآها كوكب الشمس بعينيه العميقتين المضيئتين وشعره الطائر الحاضن لكل عصافير الكون وفمه الأحمر الرطب البديع، وجسمه الآثيري الناعم، فأحبها وبادلها شوق بشوق، وأرسل نحوها أشعة من فؤاده، فنفذت إلى قلبها، وصارت قوت القلوب حبلى، ولم تكمل سنواتها العشرين بعد.
