في هذا الكتاب يجمع الأستاذ عبد الله الجبوري / أمين مكتبة الأوقاف العامة ببغداد مخطوطات العالم الجليل الأستاذ حسن بن محمد الرجب الموصلي البغدادي المشهور بــ الأنكرلي المتوفى في سنة (1344هـ)، وعددها (154) مخطوطاً.
ويضيف إلى هذه المخطوطات؛ مخطوطة كتاب "الحوادث النافعة" لابن الغوطي، ومخطوطة كتاب "ذيل طبقات الحنابلة" لزين الدين أبي الفرج عبد الرحمن بن رجب الحنبلي البغدادي؛ ولأنها مخطوطات لم تفهرس، قام الأستاذ الجبوري إلى صنع هذا الفهرس تحت عنوان "فهرس مخطوطات حسن الأنكرلي المهداة إلى مكتبة الأوقاف العامة ببغداد" خدمة لأهل العلم والمشتغلين بالبحث والتأليف.
وبناءً على ما تقدم اتبع الجبوري في صنع هذا الفهرس، الطريقة المشهورة في تصنيف المخطوطات حسب موضوعاتها، فاشتملت على: علوم القرآن الكريم وما يتعلق بها والحديث وعلومه والفقه وأصوله والفرق والردود والفلسفة والحكمة والكلام والتصوف والأدب والشعر واللغة والنحو والصرف والبلاغة وعلومها والرياضيات والفلك والبلدان الجغرافية والتاريخ والطبقات والإدارة والحسبة وموضوعات شتى أخرى.
