ويأتي هذا الكتاب ضمن خطة شاملة تحاول تعويض ما فات الطلبة من التدرب على مهارات اللغة الأساسية في المراحل المدرسية المختلفة، وقد وضعتها كلية الآداب بجامعة الإسراء لما لاحظته من ضعف متناه في إتقان الطلبة للمهارات المختلفة للغتهم عند التحاقهم بالجامعة.
ويحاول هذا الكتاب أن يتناول مهارة القراءة مع مراجعة شاملة لقواعد اللغة والإملاء التي درسها الطلاب خلال السنوات الاثنتي عشرة التي أمضاها في المدارس دون أن يتقنها.
