هذا كتاب منهجي جامعي يعلم الطالب كيف يكتب فقرة من نوع الكتابات التي نجدها في المقالات والأبحاث التي ترمي إلى شرح فكرة معينة أو عرضها بطريقة أكثر تفصيلاً ووضوحاً. وهذا النوع من الكتابة هو ما نجده في معظم الكتب المنهجية الجامعية بأنواعها المختلفة، سواء أكان موضوعها علمياً أن إنسانياً أو لغوياً. وهو نتاج دراسة مطولة من الباحث لغير كتاب من الكتب الأجنبية التي تقدم هذا النوع من التدريب، وهو يتوجه بشكل خاص لطلبة اللغة العربية، كما أن مادته تعد ضرورية بالنسبة للبطة اللغة الإنكليزية فضلاً عن طلبة بقية العلوم الإنسانية.
