إن لهذا الكتاب منزلة عظيمة رفيعة بين أهل العلمن لما اشتمل عليه من إيضاح ما أشكل في الجامع الصحيح وتخريج ما فيه من أحاديث والاثار المعلقة، وبيان الكثير من مسائل الإجماع والخلاف المتعلقة بأحاديث الكتاب. و التنبيه على كثير من أوهام بعض شرائح الجامع الصحيح وغيرهم وغير ذلك من الفوائد الكثيرة والفرائد النادرة التي اشتمل عليها هذا الشرح العظيم. ولما كانت الطبعات السابقة من هذا الكتاب غير خالية من الأخطاء تم المقابلة مع النسخ المعتمدة والتعليق على بعض المواضع التي تمس الحاجة الى التعليق عليها حتى تكون هذه الطبعة أكثر إتقاناً وأكمل فائدة من الطبعات السابقة. ويبدأ الكتاب الشرح بالأسانيد إلى الأصل بالسماع أو بالإجازة, ويسوقها على نمط مخترع، وذلك انطلاقاً من قول بعض الفضلاء: الأسانيد أنساب الكتب، فيسوق الكتاب هذه الأسانيد مساق الأنساب. فيقع الشروع في الشرح والاقتصار على أتقن الروايات. ويتسلسل الكتاب في مجلداته الأربع عشر من الجزء الأول الذي يتناول: بدء الوحي، الإيمان، العلم، الوضوء، الغسل، الحيض، التيمم، الصلاة إلى باقي الأجزاء التي تتناول كافة نواحي حياة الانسان المسلم وصولاً الى الجزء الرابع عشر.
