Book Description
الزجاجي هو أبو القاسم عبد الرحمن بن إسحاق، ولقب بالجاجي لتتلمذه على الشيخ أبي إسحاق إبراهيم بن السري الزجاج المتوفي سنة (311هـ). نزل بغداد ودرس على علمائها مثل الزجاج، وابن السراج، وابن كيسان، وابن دريد وغيرهم.
ورحل الزجاجي عن بغداد، فأقام في دمشق مدة، حيث جلس للتدريس والإملاء، ثم سكن طبرية حتى توفي فيها سنة (337هـ) على أرجح الأقوال.
وألف الزجاجي عدداً من الكتب التي اعتنى بها العلماء والدارسون قديماً وحديثاً، وقد أحصى له عدد من الباحثين المحدثين أكثر من عشرين كتاباً.
كما يعرض الكتاب قواعد الإملاء العربي وكثير من تلك القواعد استقر على ما ذكره المؤلف، وغيره من العلماء المتقدمين، لكن بعض تلك القواعد قد تطور خلال القرون، فحاول المحقق أن يشير غلى ذلك في الهوامش، مستنداً إلى كتاب عبد السلام هارون، خاصة وهي مواضع قليلة، وحاول ألا يطيل في الهوامش، وإنما كان هدفه دائماً توضيح نص الكتاب وتصحيحه.
