هذه شعبة من شعب الإيمان تتحدث عن داءي الغل والحسد, وأنهما من شر الأدواء, وأنه من عافاه الله منهما فقد مكن الإيمان من قلبه. قال تعالى: (قل أعوذ برب الفلق, من شر ما خلق, ومن شر غاسق إذا وقب, ومن شر النفاثات في العقد, ومن شر حاسد إذا حسد). أمر الله نبيه أن يعوذ به من شر الحاسد. قال الغزالي: الحسد من نتائج الحقد, والحقد من نتائج الغضب, فالحسد فرع فرعه والغضب أصل أصله وللحسد فروع كثيرة منها الكفر ومنها القتل وإبليس أول من سن الكفر وقابيل أول من سن القتل وأصل ذلك الحسد.
