لقد اهتمّ الدين الإسلامي باللبنة الأساسية لكلٌ مجتمع، وهي الأُسرة، فأقامها على أساس سليم ورباط قوي متين؛ لأنّها النواة الأولى للمجتمع، وفي صلاحها صلاح المجتمع بأسره، وفي فسادها فساده.
ونظراً لأنّ النسب حقيقة كبرى في هذا الوجود بالنسبة إلى البشر، ولما له من أهمّية بالغة، لذا نجد أنّ القرآن الكريم نصّ عليه وكذلك السنّة النبوية الشريفة، كما أنّ الفقه الإسلامي قد اعتبر حفظ النسب من الأُمور المهمّة التي من الواجب مراعاتها والتقيّد بها.
ومع كلّ ما تقدّم لم يأخذ هذا البحث (النسب وأحكامه) حيّزاً مهمّاً ومستقلاً في الدراسات الفقهية بما يستحق ومستقلاً في الدراسات الفقهية بما يستحقّ من نظر ومراجعة وإبراز.
ومن هنا كانت هذه الدراسة القيّمة والواسعة لأحكام النسب في الفقه الإسلامي طبقاً لنظر المذاهب الخمسة وبصورة تفصيلية قلّ نظيرها فيما بأيدينا من دراسات سابقة.
