لقد جرت العادة بين الفقهاء الإسلاميين: على إطلاق مصطلح "أهل الذمة" على كل مواطن غير مسلم داخل الدولة الإسلامية وتعريف الذمة في اللغة "هو العهد والامان" محمد بن عبد الكريم التلمساني الجزائري "والتي دوّن فيها أحداثاً عاشها وعايش أهلها وبالخصوص اليهود الذين كان له معهم موقف مطير يرجع سببه في الأصل إلى توليهم أحكام جلّ قرى "توات"، فلهذا قام المؤلف بتدوين هذه الرسالة الوجيزة ليبين فيها فكر اليهود وصهيونيتهم ضد المسلمين وخبث آرائهم. أما الرسالة الثانية "الإعلام بما أغفله" لأبي القاسم بن عظوم التونسي فهي تعالج موضوعاً مشابهاً لرسالة: مصباح الأرواح، وقد جاء هذا الكتاب محققاً وهذا ما تجلى في تخريج الآيات الواردة في نصها على المصحف الكريم والأحاديث النبوية الشريفة وكتب السنة، والمعاجم والمسانيد وغيرها.
