يعد عبد الرحيم محمود واحداً من الشعراء القلائل الذين مزجوا ببراعة نادرة بين القول والفعل، فقد أسرج منذ شبابه المبكر لخيل القصيدة في ساحات الشرف والنضال، ثم مضى في ركاب قصيدته ئائراً، واضعاً روحه على كفه، من أجل حرية فلسطين حتى إشتشهد في سبيلها. وإذ ترَجل الفارس البطل لم تترجَل القصيدة، ولكنها بقيت تحلّق في ضمير القارئ العربي من المحيط إلى الخليج.
في هذه الأوراق يطلّع القارئ على محطات جديدة في حياة الشاعر الشهيد، إذ لم يكتفي الكاتب بعرض ملامح من شعره الوطني، بل عرض لأهم موضوعات شعره الأخرى التي تناولت الجوانب القومية والدينية والإجتماعية والإنسانية، معرّجاً على السمات الفنية التي طبعت قصائده.
