تتولى هذه الدراسة عرض البيانات وتناول موضوع "دراسة السجون" بالبحث والتحليل في مجال "العود" وطبقاً لما توصلت إليه لجنة البت المكونة من "مصطفى عمر التنيّر، وعبد المجيد خشخوشة، ومصطفى عبد المجيد كارة" في تحديد لوسيلة جمع البيانات في إطار منهج البحث الذي اختارته للقيام بهذه الدراسة.
وبالعودة لمضمون هذه الدراسة نجد أنها قد قامت بعرض وتحليل بعض البيانات المشتمل عليها هذا البحث وتناول مشكلة "العود" كإحدى الظواهر الإجرامية الدالة على ما عليه مستوى الجريمة ومداها. كما تحاول كذلك الربط بين متغيّر "العود" من ناحية، وإسهام السجن كإحدى المؤسسات الاجتماعية في الحوض، أو الإسهام في استفحال المشكلة وخطورة اتجاهاتها من ناحية أخرى.
أما أهداف هذه الدراسة فتتلخص بمحاولتها نحو استطلاع ما عليه السجون في الجماهيرية الليبية من حال، وبالتالي سعي وراء استنباط بعض الأسباب المؤدية إلى الجريمة والجنوح (من خلال الاستفسار عن حالة النزلاء الاجتماعية والثقافية والاقتصادية والنفسية).
