يعتبر (الفريق غلوب) واحد من أعظم الشخصيات العسكرية والسياسية في بريطانيا. فبين سنة 1897 التي هي سنة ولادجته وسنة 1986 حيث توفي بمنزله في (مي فير) عن عمر ناهز الثامنة والثمانين، استطاع هذا الرجل أن يعيش حياة خصبة ومعطاءة ولا سيما في الجوانب العسكرية والسياسية والفكرية، ومن المهم أن نذكر ارتباط (غلوب باشا) الحميم في تاريخ العرب. بكونه شاهداً وقائدنا للأحداث الكبيرة التي مرت بها الأمة العربية خلال الحرب العالمية الأولى وما تلاها وبالخصوص مأساة فلسطين والدور الكبير الذي لعبه الرجل بالانتصار لقضية العرب ودفاعه المستميت عن الأراضي الفلسطينية وفضحه للسياسات الصهيونية الوحشية التي ارتكبت بحق أهلنا في فلسطين على الصعيد الميداني والسياسي والفكري وطيلة حياته.
إن مذكرات (غلوب باشا) تمثل جزءاً حيوياً من تاريخ العراق والأمة العربية عامة. وهي مذكرات جديرة بالقراءة والاطلاع من قبل كل عربي للتوقف على المجهول من تاريخه المعاصر.
