لهذا المجلس من أمالي الأنباري نسخة واحدة قديمة كتبت بخط نسخ جميل في الصفحات الثلاث الأولى ثم أخذ يسوء ويندر فيه الإعجام إلى ما قبل الصفحة الأخيرة ثم عاد إلى شيئ من الإتقان في الصفحة الأخيرة. وهذا المجلس من أمالي ابن الأنباري له أهميته فقد انكب العلماء على دراسته وسماعه في مجالس العلم وكان فيمن سمعه الخطيب البغدادي واقتبس منه فيما بعد الخبر رقم 9 في تاريخه فهذا المجلس إذن من موارد البغدادي وعنه نقل ابن عساكر ذلك الخبر. إلى جانب ذلك فهو يعطينا صورة صادقة لما كانت عليه مجالس ابن الأنباري فهو يبدأ مجلسه بذكر حديث شريف يسنده عن مشايخه ثم يستطرد من خلال بعض ألفاظ الحديث إلى ناحية لغوية وربما ثنى بخبر لغوي آخر ثم ينتقل بعد ذلك إلى رواية الأخبار التاريخية والأدبية وبنهي مجلسه بأبيات من شعر محمد بن أمية بن أبي أمية.
