يعتبر الإيمان بالمعاد والحياة الأخروية أهم ركن عقائدي في الشريعة الإسلامية بعد التوحيد، حتى إن عدم الإيمان بهذا الأصل يخرج الإنسان من دائرة الإسلام ويدخله في ربقة الكفر، ويتجلى ذلك فيما يبديه القرآن الكريم من الاهتمام بهذا الموضوع. لذا نجد أن الأنبياء (عليهم السلام) ركزوا في إبلاغ رسالتهم السماوية بعد التوحد على مسألة دعوة الناس إلى الإيمان بالمعاد.
وبناءاً على أهمية هذا الأصل العقائدي في الإسلام، يتعرض هذا الكتاب –المعاد في الأحاديث المشتركة- عبر خصوله ومباحثه إلى ركن المعاد عن طريق جمع وعرض وبتويب جميع الأحاديث المشتركة بين المدرستين: الشيعية والسنية، ابتداءً من الموت ومروراً بالبرزخ وانتهاءً بالقيامة وما يتلوها، من قبيل: أشراط الساعة، الصراط، الميزان، الحوض، الشهود، الجنَة، النار، وذلك وفق رؤية القرآن الكريم والمصادر الأولية المعتمدة عند الفريقين ومنها روايات أولياء الله المقربين. كل ذلك يأتي بهدف التقريب بين المذاهب الإسلامية، وتجذير الوعي العقائدي والفكري في المسلمين جميعاً والذي لا يقتصر على مذهب دون آخر.
