هذا كتاب "القراءة خلف الإمام" للحافظ أبي بكر أحمد بن الحسين بن علي البيهقي صاحب السنن الكبرى.
وفي هذا الكتاب جمع البيهقي الأحاديث المرفوعة غلى النبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم) والآثار الموقوفة على الصحابة والتابعين رضوان الله عليهم أجمعين في القراءة خلق الإمام محققاً ما أخرجه ممحصاً ما أورده.
ولقد صنف الكتاب من قبل البخاري جزء في هذا الشأن وأسماه "خير الكلام في القراءة خلف الأمام". ولقد أكثر البيهقي كما يتبين من هذا الكتاب من النقل من كتاب الإمام البخاري، فجاء المتن جامعاً لأقوال الأئمة وجاء شرح الإمام البيهقي لكلامهم زيادة في الفائدة.
وبناءً على ما تقدم توزع الكتاب على (18) باباً تشتمل: باب الدليل على أن قراءة القرآن ركن في الصلاة وأنها واجبة في كل ركعة، وأن لا صلاة إلا بفاتحة الكتاب بجمع الإمام والمأموم والمنفرد، وعلى أن كل صلاة لم يقرأ فيها بفاتحة الكتاب فهي خداج، وباب ما يستدل به على أن النبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم) إنما نهى المأموم عن الجهر بالقراءة لا عن أصل القراءة، وباب ما يؤثر عن أصحاب النبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم) في قراءتهم خلف الإمام وأمرهم بها...إلخ.
