اكملت دراستها الابتدائبة والثانوية في مدينة صنعاء، ودرست الأدب الإنجليزي في جامعة صنعاء، حيث حصلت على شهادة البكالوريوس عام 2005.
اشتغلت بعد تخرجها محررة في صحيفة "الثقافية" ومحررة للصفحة الثقافية في صحيفة اليمن الجديد، محررة في صحيفة الديمقراطية، وتشغل حاليا منصب مدير تحرير صحيفة رصيف الثقافية ومحررة في ملحق ألوان في صحيفة الجمهورية.

"كطيف المسافات نمهر بالعشق تاريخنا... الغرام لنا... وهذا السراب المغلف بالخوف أيضاً لنا. وكان المساء الشريد يلفّ على شوقه الأغنيات، ينادي: (اسجعوا ها هنالك من يزرع الماء بين السماوات ينسك في كفنا آخر الوجد، يقلب في شفتينا التراب لتخصب أرض النبوءات في لهفك).
يقولون إن النبوءة أودعها الليل جوف العصافير... يطلقها العاشقون... تعمّد/يا عاشقي/الورد حين تضم الشوارع أسماءنا بالسنابل. ترفع صوت الغواية ترقص في موتها إن نسينا... مُدّ أناملنا كي نلامس بعض التراتيل... مسرّتنا البكر يا رئة القلب تفرج عما تبقى من الخبز... عما تبقى من اللحن للمتعبين... أتذكر كيف يجيب السحاب عليك إلى أن أجيب... وكيف ينام بصدرك حين أجيب... وكيف أضيع على ثغرك الغضّ حين يدللني الوقت... حين ترى غاويات العفاريت يطرقن شباكنا بالزهور؟ أتذكر يا فاتني كيف ترصف قلبي على باب... تنسج في صفة الفجر أنجمنا فيغني الصباح وثيراً لنا" استرسالات وتهويمات صاخبة حيناً متجردة أحياناً... ومستكينة في بعض الأحايين... ولكن لتبقى دائماً ثائرة... هاربة من أسر الوزن والتفاعيل…
