يتناول هذا البحث "المماثلة الصوتية في البنية والتركيب"، وأثر التناسب الصوتي في ذلك، ويقصد بالتناسب الصوتي وجود تقارب أو إتفاق في صفة أو بعض صفات بين صوتين متتاليين في سلسلة صوتية ممتدة على مستوى تجاور الكلمات عندما تتركب في سياق لغوي منطوق.
وقد قسمت البحث إلى تمهيد وبابين وخاتمة، أما التمهيد فكان لبيان العلل الصوتية للتناسب الصوتي، حيث تطرق إلى بيان صفات الأصوات ومخارجها بين القديم والحديث التي تؤثر في المماثلة الصوتية، وبيان التجانس والتقارب، ثم التماثل التام الجائز منه والواجب، والتماثل غير التام.
والباب الأول: مماثلة صوت لآخر في بنية واحدة: وقسم إلى خمسة فصول: الفصل الأول: الفعل الماضي، الفصل الثاني: الفعل المضارع، الفصل الثالث: فعل الأمر، الفصل الرابع: نظام المقاطع الصوتية للصيغ الفعلية، الفصل الخامس: الصيغ الأسمية.
والباب الثاني: مماثلة صوت لآخر في بنيتين متجاورتين: وقسم إلى فصلين: الفصل الأول: المماثلة الصوتية في بنيتين متصلتين: وقد تحدث فيه عن المماثلة الصوتية التامة، والمماثلة الصوتية غير التامة، وتأثير ذلك في المقاطع الصوتية للصيغ.
الفصل الثاني: المماثلة الصوتية في بنيتين منفصلتين: وقد تحدث فيه عن مماثلة أصوات النون والباء والثاء والدال والذال والراء والفاء واللام للأصوات المجاورة لها من أول البنية المجاورة في سلسلة المتجاورات الصوتية، ثم تحدث عن أثر هذه المماثلة في المقاطع الصوتية.
