يبحث هذا الكتاب موضوع التربية السياسية كجانب رئيسي ومحوري من جوانب التربية الوطنية من خلال تسعة فصول. الفصل الأول يتعلق بالتعريف بالتربية السياسية، والفصل الثاني يتعلق بأسس التربية السياسية، والفصل الثالث يتعلق بأوساط التربية السياسية. وحيث أن موضوع التربية السياسية يتعلق بشكل أو آخر بعلاقة المواطن بالدولة، فيتعلق الفصل الرابع بموضوع الدولة من حيث نشأتها ومعناها وأركانها وسلطاتها ودستورها. إن معرفة المواطن لحقوقه والتزامه بأداء واجباته هدف من أهداف التربية السياسية، فالفصل الخامس يتعلق بحقوق المواطن وواجباته. إن الديمقراطية ، أصبحت أسلوب الحكم الذي تتطلع جميع شعوب العالم وأممه للعيش في كنفه. من هذا المنطلق فإن الديمقراطية بمعناها ومبادئها وأخلاقياتها ومؤسساتها وممارساتها وتقاليدها تشكل الفصل السادس من هذا الكتاب. إن تعميق وحدة المواطنين وتماسكهم هدف من أهداف التربية السياسية، وحيث أن هذه الوحدة لا تحقق بالدرجة المطلوبة إلا من خلال وحدة هويتهم، لذلك فإن الفصل السابع يتعلق بالهوية من حيث معناها ومكوناتها. إن قضية فلسطين ليست فقط قضية الشعب الفلسطيني، بل هي وبنفس الأهمية قضية الشعر الأردني، وهي أيضاً قضية جميع الشعوب العربية. من هذا المنطلق فالفصل الثامن يتعلق بالتعريف بقضية فلسطين من حيث نشأتها وتطورها وواقعاً وأساليب ووسائل التصدي للعدوان الصهيوني وتحقيق الحل الشامل والعادل والدائم لها. وأخيراً وليس آخراً، وبناءً على ما جاء في هذه الفصول الثمانية يقدم الفصل التاسع الأهداف الوطنية للتربية السياسية.
