أعتقد أنها رواية مهمة خاصة في هذه المرحلة من تاريخنا... هل هي مصادفة؟ أم هي دورة العنف تتكرّرُ؟ سؤال راودني وأنا أقوم بترجمة رواية الكاتبة التشيلية من أصل سوري، إديت شاهين "نعيمة قصّة أمي الطويلة" إنّها رحلة العذاب التي بدأها السوريون في العقد الأوّل من القرن العشرين، وتتكرَّر اليوم بعد مئة سنة.
تحكي لنا الرواية قصّة فتاة حمصية، نعيمة، وزواجها من شاب كان قد هاجر إلى تشيلي لكنّه ما لبث أن عاد ليستقر في بلده، فيشتري كروما في قريته أوتان، لكنّ الحرب التي كانت على الأبواب تجعل العثمانيين الأتراك يجندون آلاف السوريين في حزب لا ناقة لهم فيها ولا جمل فيهربون من ملاحقاتهم.
يحدث هذا ليوسف زوج نعيمة، الذي يهرب إلى أن يقرّر الهجرة ثانية إلى تشيلي، إديت شاهين ابنته، تروي لنا هذه الرحلة الصعبة ورحلة الكثيرين من أهل سورية بحثاً عن الحرية والكرامة فيجدونها، لكن في بلادٍ غير بلادهم.
