هذه رسالة "إنباء الأمراء بأبناء الوزراء" لابن طولون الدمشقي تنشر لأول مرة بعد أن كانت مغيبة في خزائن الكتب. ولهذه الرسالة خصوصيتها وأهميتها وذلك للأسباب التالية: 1-أنها واحدة من مصنفات ابن طولن الدمشقي وهو من المكثرين في التأليف حتى تجاوزت كتبه ورسائله السبعمائة والخمسين مؤلفاً ولا يضارعه في كثرة التأليف سوى الإمام السيوطي رحمه الله. 2-هي إضافة مهمة إلى كتب تراجم الوزراء التي لم ينشر منها إلا أقل القليل فضلاً عن ندرة تلك الكتب التي تناولت حياة الوزراء مثل "الإشارة إلى من نال الوزارة" لابن الصيرفي. 3-ومما يزيد في أهميتها أنها نسخة وحيدة وبخط المؤلف مما يوضح مدى الحاجة إلى بذل جهد مضاعف في تحقيقها لصعوبة خط ابن طولون كما هو معروف. 4-المدى الزمني التي غطته المخطوطة، فلم تقف عند عهد معين كالعصر العباسي أو الأيوبي، بل تجاوزته إلى العصر المملوكي والأيوبي، كذلك لم يكتف ابن طولون في عرض تراجم وزراء المشرق بل تعداها إلى الأندلس مثل ترجمة لسام الدين ابن الخطيب.
رأى مهنا حمد المهنا تحقيق هذه الرسالة والتقديم لها بنبذة ترجم فيها للمؤلف ولرسالته.
