بعد جمع القرآن الكريم ووصول مصاحف عثمان إلى الأمصار (الشام ومصر والعراق واليمن) تفنن الخطاطون في الكتابة فأبدعوا أنواع كثيرة من الخطوط سُمّيت بأسماء كثيرة.
وقد كتب القرآن الكريم بأنواع كثيرة من الخطوط وتفنن الخطاطون في كتابته وزخرفته إلى أن أصبح خط النسخ هو الخط المعتمد في كتابة المصاحف الموجودة بين أيدينا الآن.
وقد اعتنى الخطاطون المسلمون بهذا الخط كونه استُخدم في كتابة القرآن الكريم، وتستعمل الصحف والمجلات هذا الخط في مطبوعاتها، فهو خط الكتب المطبوعة في البلاد العربية؛ ونظراً لأهمية هذا الخط رأينا أنه من الواجب علينا أن نحرص على تعليم الناشئة هذا الفن الراقي الجميل.
هذه السلسلة من أربع أجزاء، للصف الأول والثاني والثالث والرابع الأساسي، وقد اخترنا لها إسم (المرشد إلى الخط الجميل)، وقد عمدنا إلى كتابة النصوص بالريشة وبالشكل الفني الصحيح كي يتعود التلميذ على جمالية الخط وقواعده؛ ونحن نضع بين يدي المعلم والمتعلم هذا الجهد المتواضع.
