"أمي... أنا بحاجة إليك، لا تتركيني"، صرخة تنبعث من أعماق كل طفل، إلى أي مكان وزمان انتمى، وخاصة في أعماق طفل العصر الحديث الذي ينتابه الإحساس بأن والديه يهربان منه ويتركانه وحيداً تجاه معركة الحياة الفاصلة التي ستجعل منه راشد الغد ودعامة المستقبل، فصعوبة تنشئة الأطفال تبدو اليوم أكبر منها في أي وقت مضى، وذلك لعوامل بيئية اجتماعية طبية، وتاريخية…وفي هذه الدراسة الميدانية تقصت "كريستين نصار" أساس المشكلة مجيبة بأسلوب علمي موضوعي على العديد من التساؤلات الهامة منطلقة من آراء العلماء والنقاد.
وفي إطار مهمة بحثها أتت في هذه الدراسة على تقصي دور الأم، ومقومات الأمومة وأهميتها في تطوير سياقات النضج عند الطفل، وتطرقت إلى القصور الأمومي وأنواعه ودلالاته، ووضع الأمومة الحالي، وانعكاسات المترتبة على الإنسان من جراء تأثير سيطرة المفاهيم الخاطئة فيه. وهدفها من هذه الدراسة هو تذكير ألام بدورها الأساسي والذي تعني به دور الخلق وبذل جميع الجهود والتضحيات لمساعدة المخلوق في تحقيق أسمى هدف ينشد من خلقه، تحقيق استقلاليته الفردّية التي بدونها لا يتسنّى له مطلقاً القيام لاحقاً، بدوره الاجتماعي والإنساني، وهذه الصرخة موجّهة للأم بكل بساطة، لا للأم المثالة ولا للأم الساحرة، بل للأم التي نمت كفتاة تبلورت شخصيتها وتألقت فأصبحت امرأة تتمتع بالأنوثة المتكاملة.
