لا شك أن سبب التخلف عندما يعود بالدرجة الأولى إلى العامل الداخلي وهو عامل يعود بجذوره إلى مرحلة إنهزام العقلانية / المعتزلة أمام "أبي حامد الغزالي" وانصاره.
وقد امتد هذا التخلف حتى القرن التاسع عشر، ولم يكن آنذاك وجود لما يسمى إستعمار خارجي، إنطلاقاً مما سبق نستطيع القول إننا لسنا نتاج عصر الصحابة ولا العصر الذهبي للحضارة الإسلامية، بل نحن كما أشرت في سؤالك الأبناء الشرعيون لمرحلة الإنحطاط العربي الإسلامي الممتد منذ العهد السلجوقي مروراً بالمماليك والعثمانيين.
ومن المعروف أن الدولتين المملوكية والعثمانية أنتجتا مجتمعاً وأمة مهزومتين من الخارج والداخل، فكما ترى نحن نعيش في عام 1424هـ لكننا في الوقت نفسه نعيش فكرياً وعملياً عام 1424م.
في هذا الحوار مع د. شحرور سيجد القارئ أنني حاولت التطرق الى علمنة الإسلام، كما تطرقت الى منهجية شحرور وكيفية استفادته من الجدلية الديالكتيكية الهيغلية / الأنجلسية (نسبة الى هيغل وأنجلس) وتطبيق هذا الديالكتيك على بعض آيات الذكر الحكيم، وسيفاجأ القارئ لهذا الحوار بان القرآن الكريم هو الأب الشرعي للجدل والديالكتيك.
إضافة الى تطرقي لبعض الأسئلة والمواضيع التي كانت تشغلني في مرحلة من مراحل العمر، وقد تشغل الملايين غيري.
وقد تم هذا الحوار في جلستين طويلتين متباعدتين نسبياً، في شهري آذار 2003 ونيسان 2004، استغرقتا قرابة عشر "الساعات".
