وتوزعت تلك الوصايا في هذا الغرض في بطون الكتب، ممتزجة بغيرها من الوصايا التي أوصى بها بعض الحكماء أقوامهم أو قادتهم أو ملوكهم. فجاء هذا الكتاب مفرداً لوصايا الآباء إلى أولادهم تلك التي تمثل هذا اللون من التجارب التي صاغها ببلاغة أفذاذ من أجدادنا العرب منذ العصر الجاهلي حتى عصرنا الحاضر.
