ننتقل مع الكتاب إلى عصر التغيرات.. نتعايش مع التحولات التي أحاطت بالفنانين فكرياً واجتماعياً.. نحضر لقاءاتهم.. نشاركهم حماسهم، ننتقل بين (الباوهاوس) و(جماعة الجسر) و(الفارس الأزرق) و(المرسم 17)..،.. ونقرأ دراسات نقدية معمقة لحركات فنية.. كالتعكيبية.. والتجريدية.. الدادئية.. السريالية.. والتعبيرية..
ونظراً لأن بنية الأثر الفني ترتبط ارتباطاً عضوياً بالصنعة، بل هي الرصيد الثمين، والأساس الذي لا غنى عنه لذلك توسع المؤلف حين تستدعي الضرورة، في شروحات حوله وحول خاماته وأدواته وعلمه، حتى كاد أن يشكل مقطعاً عرضياً في جميع فصول الكتاب وفقراته.. يحث الدارس ويحرّضه على الاكتشاف بالجرأة والتجريب، كما فعل من قبل الفنانون القدماء.
