تتناول هذه الدراسة بيئة (قنا عسير) التي تقع في جنوب غرب المملكة العربية السعودية، وهي مدينة تتمتع بعمق مغرق في القيمية التاريخية والثقافية الممتدة من القديم إلى الحديث. ويقوم البحث على بابين وعدة فصول يتناول أولهما: حركة الفكر والأدب في بيئة قنا قبل توحيد المملكة العربية السعودية عام 1351، إذ يحاول تتبع حضورها الثقافي في كتب اللغة والأدب والتاريخ والبلدان لقراءة أبعادها وتاريخها الأدبي. والباب الثاني من الدراسة يتناول حركة الفكر والأدب الحديثة في قنا من خلال عدة مباحث، ويسعى من بعد إلى جمع كل ما كتب عن بيئة قنا من قصائد شعرية سواء لشعراء من خارج المكان أو من شعراء قنا نفسها، كما يتناول قراءة تشكلات البنية اللغوية، مختتماً ببعض الملاحق والوثائق التي تغطي بعض الجوانب المهمة لوعي أبعاد المكان وانكشافاته.
