في القرن الخامس الهجري، تكونت مدارس مغربية للرياضيات، من بينها مدرسة الشيخ ابن الياسمين وتلامذته، من هؤلاء التلامذة ابن هيدروا وابن غازي صاحب الارجوزه "شرح منية الحساب" التي تمّ تحقيقها وتقديم محتواها وبعض خواصها في هذا الكتاب.
وقد شملت مادة "منية الحساب" الأبواب الآتية: الأعداد الصحيحة ومراتبها، الجمع، جمع الأعداد على التفاضل في الكيف أو في الكم، خاصيات الحساب على بيوت الشطرنج، الجمع على توالي الأعداد ومربعاتها ومكعباتها، الجمع على توالي الأفراد ومربعاتها ومكعباتها، الجمع على توالي الأزواج ومربعاتها ومكعباتها، الطرح، الاختيار: طرح التسعة والثمانية والسبعة والستة والأحد عشر، الضرب وأنواعه، القسمة والتسمية، المحاصّة، حل العدد إلى أعداده الأوائل، الجبر والحط، الكسور وأنواعها، سطحها، جمع الكسور طرحها ضربها قسمتها، الجذور؛ تدقيق التقريب، ذوات الاسمين؛ إيجادها تجذيرها، جمع الجذور، طرحها ضربها قسمتها، القسمة على ذوات الاسمين، البحث عن المجهول، النسبة وأنواعها: عددية هندسية تأليفية مؤلفة نسبة المساواة، الأعداد الأربعة المنتاسبة، علم الجبر والمقابلة؛ المسائل الست، معادلات الدرجة الرابعة أو الثالثة. المسألة السبتية، من مسائل الشيخ أبي بكر الحصار، حلّها، النسبة المحالية (من مسائل ابن البناء)، والشرح الذي يقدمه المحقق قيّم مستوف للمادة العلمية، جمع فيها ابن غازي آراء من سبقه في الرياضيات وسجل تعليقات أساتذته عليها، كما استنبط أحياناً طرقاً طريفة ذكرها ضمن ما أشار إليه باسم "فتوح الباري".
