الجفر عبارة عن قسم كبير من العلم التفصيلي للإمام علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه، وهو من مصادر التشريع الإسلامي عند أهل البيت ومدرستهم، حيث يحتوي ما أخذه الإمام علي عن الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم من علوم في أمور الدين والدنيا والحلال والحرام والأحكام، وفي هذا الكتاب يحاول المؤلف دفع الشبهات التي تحيط بالجفر وذلك من خلال دراسة يبن فيها المؤلف بأن الجفر حجة في حق آل محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، ووضح سبب إهماله مؤكداً على أن الجفر جدير بالاهتمام والدراسة ومبيناً سبب الإرجاف (التشكيك) حوله وملقياً الضوء على أسرار من المعرفة الجفرية.
