في عمله هذا يضيء الدكتور "منذر عياش" على ثنائية "سوسير" المعروفة "لغة/ كلام" "فالأولى تأخذ موقع "اللغة" وتأخذ الثانية موقع "الكلام" أي الإنجاز.
وفي "الكتابة الثانية وفاتحة المتعة" يدرس المؤلف فعالية القراءة وفعالية الكتابة معاً ويعتبرهما وجهان لفعل واحد. فالقراءة لا تنفك تدور في فلك الكتابة، بل هي كتابة ولكن بطريقة أخرى... ماذا يعني هذا؟ يقول الكاتب "... إن الأدب بنية بين بنيتين: بنية المجتمع الذي نشأ فيه، وبنية اللغة التي كتب بها، ولكنه، وعلى الرغم من ذلك، يمثل بنية مستقلة، يظل أحد عناصرها غائباً، وناقصاً، وشارداً إلى أن تضعه القراءة فيها وترده إليها. هذا العنصر هو القراءة نفسها (...) ولما كان الادب مشروعاً حضارياً... فقد ظهر ضمن الدراسات الأدبية مرافقاً لحركة التطور الاجتماعي وملازماً لها. يتأثر بها حيناً، ويؤثر فيها حيناً آخر. وما كان ذلك ليكون لو لم يكن الأدب، من حيث هو إبداع، رهن حاجته، هو، إلى الإنسان، فقد كانت هي أيضاً وسيط الإنسان إلى الإبداع (...) يعني هذا أنها... لحظة حدوث دائم تجعل الإبداع والإنسان على مثال الحضارة تعدداً وانفتاحاً، واتساعاً وارتجالاً...".
وعلى هذا يدرس الكتاب فعالية القراءة وفعالية الكتابة بوصفهما آنيتان ومتداخلتان في الوقت نفسه تداخلاً سببياً وتكوينياً، أي أن الأولى تحدث بسبب الأخرى وإذا تأملنا قليلاً سنجد أنهما بمنزلة الشيء الذي يدور على نفسه... محتويات الدراسة: "فاتحة المتعة: فعالية القراءة والكتابة"، "اللغة والاشياء"، "سيمياء اللغة والفكر"، "بين حضارة الشخص وحضارة النص"، "الخطاب الأدبي ولسانيات النص"، وأخيراً "الكتابة الثانية ولسانيات النص".
