منذ أن ولد مالك وهو يعتبر ولداً عجيب لا يعرف الحزن فعندما كان في الرابعة من عمره كان الطفل الوحيد الذي لا يخاف الرعد، وعندما بلغ السابعة من عمره طارد الذئب وأبعده عن الأفنام وعندما كان في الثانية عشرة من عمره إستطاع أن يقتل الثعبان بنفسه.
كما كان فتىً عجيباً حيث إستطاع أن يواجه اللصوص ويحارب الجيوش وأن يعتلي عرش الملوك وهو لا يعرف الخوف، ولكن لما تولى منصب الحاكم حصل شيء لم يخطر بباله، فلأول مرة اصطكتا أسنانه وأخذ العرق يتصيب من جبينه ورعدة تسري في بدنه فلماذا يا ترى؟…
