هذا كتاب "في الأضداد سمَاه مؤلفه "مجمع الأضداد"، وفيه جمع كل ما تناولته أقلام مشاهير اللغويين في هذا الباب، فجاء خلاصة لسبعة مصنفات مشهورة، أولها للأصمعي، وثانيها لأبي حاتم السجستاني، وثالثها لإبن السكيت، ورابعها لأبي محمد التوزي، وخامسها للحسن بن محمد الصَفاني، وسادسها لمجد الدين بن محمد بن يعقوب الفيروز آبادي، وسابعها لأبي الطيب اللغوي. وقد أضاف إليها ثمانية وخمسين حرفاً في الأضداد استقاها من القرآن الكريم، ومن الحديث الشريف، ومن الأمثال عند العرب، ومن الخطب والأشعار القديمة، ومما صادفه في بطون أمهات الكتب والمعاجم قديمها وحديثها...
وعليه، انتظمت أضداد الكتاب بحسب الترتيب الألفبائي للغة العربية ابتداءً بحرف الهمزة عند كلمة "الأبض" وانتهاء بحرف الياء عند كلمة "يدي" مع الشرح للألفاظ والمعاني المستقاة من كلام المفسرين ومن أمهات معاجم اللغة العربية الفصحى.
