كتبت المجتمعات العربية تأريخها شعراً لم يكن الشفهي منه أقل تأثيرا من الفصيح فيه، بل ربما كان أكثر قدما وتأثيرا نظرا لما ينقله بلهجاته .. من أغراض أدبية لا تقل ثراء عن تلك التي يتناولها الفصيح. من هذه النقطة بالذات، ونظراً إلى ما يؤديه الشعر – بقسميه الفصيح والعامي من وظائف – دأبت الدكتورة "إيمان بقاعي" على دراسة "النبطي" منه من خلال نماذج شعر الشريف "جبارة الصغار" (1095ه -1105ه) التي هي عبارة عن ثلاث قصائد نبطية مهمة متسلسلة زمنيا درستهاً الكاتبة باحثة عن هويتها وواقعها الفني والإجتماعي والفلسفي للوصول إلى حقائق واضحة فيما يتعلق بالشاعر. ووجدت فيها إطارا عاما لحياته ونمط تفكيره وبيئته، مستعينة بكل ما كتب عنه وعن قصائده من مقالات وتحليلات تجسد تجربة هذا الشاعر المبدع.
جاءت الدراسة موزعة على مدخل وفصول وخاتمة على الشكل الآتي:
مدخل بعنوان (ولد للإشراف شاعر) وفيه تعريف للشاعر موضوع البحث.
الفصل الأول: (نسب الشريف جبارة).
الفصل الثاني: (رصيد الشريف جبارة الصفار الشعري) ويدرس القصائد الثلاثة للشاعر.
الفصل الثالث: (أغراض الشريف جبارة الصفار الشعرية) ويضم: الوصف، المديح، الهجاء، الحكمة.
وأخيرا، خاتمة: تتضمن خلاصات البحث ونتائجه.
