ليس وضعُ كتاب يتناول موضوع النّقد الإعلاميّ بالعملِ السّهل، ومبعثُ الصعوبةِ في الوصول إلى كتابٍ من هذا القبيل لا يقتصر على قلّة المراجع والمصادر التي تتناول هذا البحث فحسبُ، بل يُردُّ إلى تشابك الموضوع مع مواضيعَ أخرى تشابكَ الأغصان في الشجرة الواحدة.
وليس من المبالغة الإدّعاءُ أنّ الحديث عن وجود علْمٍ مستقلِّ يُسمَّى ((النقد الإعلاميّ)) حديث غير واقعي، بل هو حديث ينطلق من معرفة واقعيّةٍ بطبيعة المادّة الإعلاميّة، هذه المادّة التي لم تعد تأخذ شكلاً واحداً، بل صارَ لها أشكال تتنوّع تبعاً لتنوّع وسائل الإعلام.
وإذا كانت الصّحافة المكتوبة هي الفرد الأوّل في أسرة الإعلام؛ لا تعارض الإنتظام في منظومةٍ نقديّةٍ تساعد على تحديد نقاط القوّة والضّعف في المادّة الصحفيّة: فإن الأفراد الآخرين الذين انضمّوا فيما بعد إلى هذه الأسرة، لا يبدون ذلك اللّين الذي تبديه الصّحافة في الخضوع لسلطان النّقد، وتعني بالأفراد الآخرين الإذاعة، التلفزيون، المواقع الإلكترونيّة على الشابكة، الرسائل المنتشرة عبر الهواتف النقّالة، الإعلانات التي انتقلتْ من مساحة تأثيرٍ محدودةٍ إلى مساحة تأثيرٍ واسعة، ولا ندري ماذا ستحمل لنا ثورةُ التّقانة من أفرادٍ سيلتحقون عمّا قريبٍ بالأسرة الإعلاميّة.
