تعد اللغة العربية وسيلة لمعرفة أسرار القرآن الكريم وعظمته والغوص في علومه. وقد اختارت المؤلفة الدكتورة سندس الجميلي من موقعها كمتخصصة في اللغة والنحو، اختارت دراسة موضوع "التقارض" وهو موضوع نحوي شامل لأقسام الكلام: الإسم والفعل والحرف عنونت كتابها: "تقارض الألفاظ في الدلالة والأعراب" . وقد اعتمدت في دراستها على كتب ومصادر النحو العربي القديم والحديث. ووزعت كتابها على مقدمة وتمهيد وثلاثة فصول وخاتمة.
خصصت التمهيد لبيان معنى مصطلح التقارض، واختلافه عن بعض المصطلحات كالاقتراض والتضمين والنيابة، وعرّفت بما كان يستعمل عند النحاة من مصطلحات وكلمات مرادفة للتقارض. ثم خصصت الفصل الأول لدراسة تقارض الأسماء بعضها مع بعض، وجاءت دراسة السماء فيه على ثلاثة مباحث: الأول لتقارض الأسماء في المعنى، والثاني لتقارضها في الحكم الإعرابي، والثالث لتقارضها في الشكل والهيأة. أما الفصل الثاني فخصصته لدراسة الأفعال وتقارض بعضها مع البعض، وجاء على مبحثين الأول لتقارض الأفعال في الزمن، والثاني لتقارض الأفعال في المعنى. أما الفصل الثالث فخصصته لدراسة الحروف وتقارضها مع الأسماء والأفعال، وجاء على ثلاثة مباحث الأول لتقارض الحروف بعضها مع بعض، والثاني لتقارض الأدوات والأسماء، والثالث لتقارض الحروف والأفعال. وختمت البحث بخاتمة أوجزت فيها أهم النتائج التي توصلت إليها.
