Book Description
يحدثنا الكتاب المقدس عن معاملات الله مع الإنسان مبتدئاً من حادثة خلق العالم. وتسمّى أجزاء الكتاب المقدس بـ"الأسفار" كأن يقال مثلاً سفر التكوين أو سفر الخروج. ولفظة "الكتاب" تأتي من أصل يوناني بمعنى "الكتب" حيث أن "الكتاب" هو بذاته مكتبة تحتوي على كتب عدّة. ولقد كتبت هذه الكتب في مدى ألف سنة بواسطة كُتّاب كتبوا من مواقع مختلفة تحت إرشاد وإلهام الله. ولقد كُتبت معظم أسفار العهد القديم باللغة العبرية. أمّا كتب العهد الجديد فقد كتبت باللغة اليونانية. وقد كتب كل سفر لغرض معين فبعض من هذه الأسفار تُعتبر أسفاراً تاريخية تحدثنا عن قصة بني إسرائيل شعب الله المختار. وبعض الأسفار الآخر أسفار نبوية تفيدنا بأمور مستقبلية مشيرة إلى خطّة الله من نحونا. وقد كُتبت أسفار أخرى لتُعلم الحكمة وتقدّم النصيحة.
ويعتبر سفر المزامير واحداً من هذه، وهو مجموعة من الترانيم المقدسة التي تُرنّم أثناء العبادة في الهيكل. وهناك مجموعة من القصص الشيقة منها سفر راعوث وهي قصة "محبة" أو قصص أبطال أنقذوا شعبهم مثل موسى. والكتاب المقدس يبدأ بخلق العالم يوحدثنا عن أحداث تمّت خلال قرون عديدة في بلدان مختلفة معلّمة جيلاً بعد جيل بأن هناك ترتيبات إلهية خاصة بالجنس البشري، واليوم-كما وفي كل عصر-تعتبر الأناجيل الدعائم الرئيسية التي يُبنى عليها الإيمان المسيحي.
