يصدر هذا الكتاب بمناسبة الذكرى المئوية لمولد الريحاني 1876-1976؛ إذ وجدها المؤلف "ألبرت الريحاني" فرصة مناسبة لتقييم هذا الكاتب العربي اللبناني الثائر على الظلم والتخلف، والطائفية وطفيلياتها والمسكون بهاجس التحرر العربي، والتطلعات الوحدوية. فقد وجد المؤلف أن نشر هذا الكتاب (المزدوج اللغة عربي/إنكليزي) يسهل للنقاد والباحثين الوصول إلى كل ما يتعلق بمؤلفات الريحاني العربية والإنكليزية، وحول نشاطاته الفكرية المختلفة في الحقول الأدبية والسياسية والإصلاح الاجتماعي.
هذا وقد حاول فيه أن يجيب على عدد من الأسئلة التي تطرح نفسها على كل ناقد بحاثة تتعلق بمؤلفات الأمين وتواريخ طبعاتها وناشريها ثم أقدم على وصف مادي للمخطوطات التي تركها للنشر، ثم أتى على ذكر المؤلفات الموضوعة عنه والمؤلفات التي تناولت أميناً بالبحث أو ترجمت له أو أتت على ذكره. وهذا بدوره قاد المؤلف إلى باب أوسع في الكتاب هو الريحاني في الصحافة اللبنانية والعربية والدولية. ويشمل هذا الباب المجلات والصحف التي كتبت عنه وترجمت له وأتت على ذكر أمين. كما ويحتوي الكتاب على مجموعة هامة من الصور الفوتوغرافية الملونة التي تظهر لقطات من حياة الريحاني الشخصية والعملية.
