تتناول رواية " كنت معي " للكاتبة الإماراتية نورة حسن الحوسني قضية العلاقة الإنسانية بين المرأة والرجل، من منظورها الانساني ، والاجتماعي ، متوقفة بأسلوب روائي سلس ،عند المؤثرات الثقافية والاجتماعية التي تؤثر فيها، وبأسلوب مبسط ، وسرد قصصي ممتع ، يتعرض للكثير من العادات والتقاليد، التي تلعب احيانا دوراً كبيراً في بلورة هذه العلاقة، او التأثير فيها بشكل سلبي احيانا ، متوقفة عند عاطفة الحب السامية، التي تستطيع أن تتجاوز المفاهيم الموروثة ، عندما يكون الحب صادقاً .
و هي تعالج قصة فتاة في مقتبل العمر، كانت شديدة التعلق بوالدها ،وترى فيه مثالاً للرجل،الذي ينضح بالرجولة والحنان وسرعان ما تجد نفسها في مواجهة حب رجل يكبرها سناً بأكثر من عشرين عاماً، لكنها ترى فيه ذلك الرجل الذي يملأ خيالها ،ورغم أنها تعيش في بداية تلك العلاقة ، حالة من الاضطراب والقلق، إلا أنها تقرر الارتباط بهذا الفارس الذي سرق قلبها ،رغم بعض الاعتراضات التي كانت تواجهها من هنا وهناك، ولاسيما من داخل وسطها الأسروي المحافظ، حيث تكتشف أن سعادتها ،تتحقق مع من هم اكبر منها سناً من الرجال ، لتخوض تجربة فريدة قادتها الى السعادة لولا تدخل يد القدر التي أخذت منها ذلك الحبيب ، الذي ظل طيفه يلازمها ،بعد أن صنع ذلك الحب منها إنسانة أخرى أكثر نضوجاً وعمقاً .
ويمكن القول ان رواية "كنت معي " تمثل حالة منتشرة جداً ،حيث تكشف الكاتبة الكثير من الغموض الذي يكتنف حياة الفتيات في مقتبل العمر، مسلطة الضوء على أهمية هذه المرحلة من عمر البنت ،وضرورة تفهم الأهل والمجتمع لمتطلباتها الإنسانية والعاطفية،ودعمها لاتخاذ القرارات التي تلبي طموحاتها بعيداً عن الإكراه والتسلط
وباختصار إن رواية كنت معي تمثل قصة عاطفية بكل أبعادها النفسية والاجتماعية والمادية ،وتشكل تجربة جديدة في الأدب النسائي الإماراتي.
