بُنَيَّ الحبيب، لأنك أغلى ما لديَّ في هذه الحياة، وأهمُّ ما أقدِّمُه إلى دنيا الناس، ولأنك أحبُّ إلى نفسي من نفسي ذاتها، فإنني أسوق إليك بعض الوصايا، وأُسديك بعض النصائح معتمدًا على خبراتٍ لا بأس بها، استقيتُها من سنواتٍ طوال في هذه الحياة، فأعرني أذن قلبك، واقرأ بعين عقلك، وخذ مني ما يفيدك ودع عنك ما لا حاجة لك به؛ فإن حياتي غير حياتك، وأيامي غير أيامك، وما ستمرُّ به حتمًا غير ما مرَّ به أبوك، غير أن بعض ما سأسوقه لك لا علاقة له بتغيُّر الزمان ولا اختلاف المكان، إنها بعض الخبرات الإنسانية والتجارب الذاتية، تعلَّم منها واستفد، خذ منها واطرح منها، وافق بعضها وعارض البعض الآخر، واعلم أنها لم تُكتب إلَّا حرصًا عليك، وحبًّا فيك، فاقرأها بعناية، لأنني أخشى ألَّا أكون موجودًا حين تحتاجُ منِّي تلك النصائح، ربما لا أكون حاضرًا وأنتَ تكبر وتنضج وتشبُّ عن الطوق، ربما أكون على أرضٍ أخرى، أو ربما تحتها؛ لذا أكتب إليك تلك الوصايا؛ لعلَّها تهمس في أذنك بصوتي إن غيَّبتني عنك الحياة، فأعرها اهتمامك، لعلها تفيدك وتنفعك.
لكن اعلم علم اليقين وأنت تقرأ هذه النصائح أنَّها لن تغنيك بحالٍ من الأحوال عن الخوض في وحل الحياة، واقتحام غمارها، لكنها قد تكون بصيصًا من النور، يضيء لك الطريق كي لا تسير فيه على غير هدى..
