لماذا الذات - الآخر؟ خل الذات - الآخر إشكالية فعلية؟ إلى أي مدى تنشر إشكالية كهذه تأثيرها في الثقافة العربية؟ ثم تحديداً في النص المسرحي؟ ما نوع الصلة بين هذه الإشكالية والتراث؟ هل تناول الكتاب المسرحي العربي هذه الإشكالية توظيفاً؟ وكيف؟ وإذا كان من حتميات توظيف هذه الإشكالية التعرض للأصالة، فما مفهوم "الأصالة"، لا سيما وأن النص المسرحي وافد أصلاً من الغرب (الآخر).
والسؤال الأهم يحرك مفاهيم الأسئلة السابقة واللاحقة وهو: لماذا اختيار هذه الإشكالية تحديداً أو سحبها على النص المسرحي الإماراتي، وتحديداً أكثر على أعمال د. سلطان بن محمد القاسمي؟
معروف بأن سلطان بن محمد القاسمي يندرج على وفق مفهوم علم النفس الحيث حول تحديد الشخصيات ضمن الشخصية المتكاملة ذات الأوجه المتعددة): إنه كاتب مسرحي، وروائي، وأستاذ جامعي، ورجل سياسة، وباحث تاريخي، علاوة على دوره الناشط في المجتمع الإماراتي.
مما لا شك فيه إن تعددية كهذه داخل الشخصية الواحدة تلقي المزيد من الضوء نحو الكيفية التي بها تتعزز هذه الإشكالية وتستبطن رؤية الكاتب تجاه الحياة والعالم بوصفة تفاعل الإنسان مع الطبيعة. وحتماً فإن لهذا كله صلة وثيقة في مجمل المستويات الحياتية التي تتحرك داخل الإمارات العربية المتحدة ومن ثم داخل الأمة العربية التي تشكل دولة الإمارات جزءاً مهما فيها.
وتتلمس الدراسة عبر تتبعها لما يمكن أن تتمخض عنه خطة البحث (رؤية) الكاتب بوصفها (ذاتا واعية) متفصلة بـ (الوعي الخاص) سواء أكان هذا (الوعي) ينتسب إلى طبقة أم إلى مجتمع متكامل بعينه على وفق (كولدمان)، وكذلك الإرهاص أو الإرهاصات التي يمكن أن توقد فتيلها داخل المتن المسرحي بهدف الإحاطة بالعالم عبر رؤية أكثر وضوحاً، وأيضاً الكيفية التي يتجلّى بها هذا (الوعي) في النص المسرحي.
