فكر الكاتب كثيراً و هو يرتب لمنهجية الكتاب، في الطريقة أو الصيغة التي يمكن أن يأخذها، وكان هاجسه الأول هو عدم الادعاء بالاحاطة الشاملة بأسئلة المسرح الاماراتي، فهو مسرح يحتاج الى الكثير من البحث والتنقيب في داخله من جهة، والى ان يلم الباحث بواقع المجتمع الاماراتي نفسه من جهة ثانية ، وتفاصيل هذا الواقع في مجالاته المختلفة وهما أمران لا يدعيهما في هذا الكتاب، فقد وجد الكاتب ان الصيغة الأكثر مناسبة لطرح هذا الكتاب هي الانطلاق من التجربة الذاتية في معايشته لهذا المسرح، وللكثير من قضاياه الراهنة، ومحاولة طرح الاسئلة التي طالما طرحها في كتابات عدة من خلال عمله في الصحافة المحلية وفي بعض القراءات لعروض هذا المسرح، وكذلك بعض الاسئلة التي لم يطرحها كما ينبغي، وبالتالي وجد الكاتب ان هذا الكتاب هو خير مكان لطرح مثل هذه الأسئلة وهي اسئلة تنطلق من واقع المعايشة نحو المواضيع والصيغ التي أتيح له ان يتعامل معها.
