وتبعاً لمقتضيات هذا الأنموذج، يبحث هذا الكتاب، أولاً في المعنى بإعتباره بنية صورية من المعلومات (المنطقية أو البيئية أو النفسية) يجب النظر في كيفية حسابها وتخزينها وإسترجاعها على أساس قيامها على أبجدية محدودة من الأوليات وعدد محدود من مبادئ التأليف بينها، كما يبحث ثانياً في تحديد علاقات التوافق القائمة بين صور المعلومات الدلالية وصور معلومات أخرى لغوية (تركيبية وصواتية) أو غير لغوية.
وقد قمنا بتوظيف المبادئ النظرية والأدوات التحليلية الواردة على مستوى بنية المعنى ومستوى علاقات التوافق، في معالجة عدد البنيات الدلالية في اللغة العربية، وذلك في منطلق تأصيل البحث الدلالي العربي بإعتباره تثبيتاً لمرتكزات تصورية يمكنها أن تضمن تجديد التفكير في بنية المعنى في اللغة العربية وإعادة تبويب هذه البنية وتعيين مكوناتها الأساسية والعلاقات بين هذه المكونات، ويمكنها بذلك أن ترقى بالبحث الدلالي العربي إلى مستوى الذي يطبع البحث في بنيات لغات طبيعية متقدمة أخرى.
