كانت إمارات الحرج والإرتباك مرتسمة بوضوح على وجه القادة الحسناء، وهي واقفة تنظر إلى هؤلاء الغرباء، ولم تتحرك من مكانها. وغنما ظلت واقفة ترقبهم بهدوء وهم يقتربون منها، ولم يكن هدوؤها دليلاً على الثقة بالنفس، وإنما دليل على عدم الإهتمام. ولم تكن ترتدي شيئاً غير (ساري) من القماس الجاوي ذي نقوش بيضاء على أرضية بنية اللون. وكان ملفوفاً حول صدرها الصغير البارز ومنسدلاً إلى ركبتيها فقط.
وكان حافية القدمين، ترف على شفتيها الوردتين إبتسامة خفيفة حاولت بها أن تخفي شعورها الحرج والإرتباك. وكان شعرها الغزير ينهدل في نعومة وبهاء على ظهرها. ذهبياً، لامعاً كأنه ثروة من جمال، ووقفت ثانية في مكانها لا يكاد الساري يخفي شيئاً من تقاطيع جسمها الأنموذجي الرشيق.
إذ كانت ملفوفة القوام، نحيلة الخصر، طويلة الساقين، بارزة النهدين، خمرية البشرة بتأثير أشعة الشمس حتى ليحسب الإنسان أنها مخلوقة من الشهد ولهذا كله حسب الدكتور سوندرز نفسه أنه يعيش حقاً في حلم جميل، فقد كانت الكاتب الحسناء كحورية في عالم من الخيال الذي لا يمت إلى الواقع بسبب، وبرغم أنه لم يكن من الذين تستهويهم النساء عادة، إلا أنه لم يستطع في تلك اللحظة ان يحول عينيه عن هذا الجمال المجسم الحي.
