من حكمة الكتاب نذكر:
قال بعض الحكماء: ثلاث يؤثرون على أنفسهم: تاجر البحر، والمقاتل بالإجرة، والمرتشي في الحكم وهو شرهم، لأن الأولَين ريما سلما ولا سلامة للثالث من الإثم.
العفاف زينة الفقر، والشكر زينة الغنى.
قدر الرجل على قدر همته، وصدقه على قدر مروءته، وشجاعته على قدر أنفته، وعفته على قدر غيرته.
وعن مؤلف هذا الكتاب الشيخ عفيف النابلسي نقرأ:
يا آمراً في سبيل الخير نسلكها / يا معطي الدرس وعظاً ضمن سيرته ، أنت الذي هام قلبي في هواك / ولم يرضَ سواك بديلاً عند وحدته.
