هذه الدراسة، هي الخامسة في سلسلة (تاريخ أدب الأطفال في سورية) وقد سعت الى تحليل النصوص القصصية، وفق منظور نقدي أدبي تطبيقي، ينطلق من أفق الطفل الثقافي والاجتماعي، اعتماداً على الإحساسات والأخيلة، التي راعت طبيعة المتلقي الصغير الواعي، وكشفت عن حشد من الجماليات اللغوية والبلاغية والفنية، التي تستجيب لروح الطفولة، ونزوعها الى الدهشة والإثارة والبهجة، فضلاً عن المعرفة والتربية، والثقافة بصورة عامة.
وقد افترضت الدراسة - ضمناً - أن هناك خطاً بيانياً تطورياً أفضى الى هذه النصوص وجمالياتها الإبداعية، بصفتها ممثلة للمنجز الفني في ظواهره الراهنة، مستفيداً من معرفة عاشها الكاتب إبداعاً ونقداً، استوعبت المراحل التي مرت بها القصة الطفلية، قبل أن تترسخ ملامحها بصورها الحالية، فتناولت الدراسة عدداً من النماذج القصصية المفردة، والمجموعات القصصية، التي ظهرت على امتداد أكثر من نصف قرن، نتيجة عملية التراكم والتحول الكيفي المنشود في إطار النتاج المحلي، فضلاً عن أن التجربة الإبداعية كانت مشرعة الأبواب على أفق عربي وعالمي، وقد أتت الدراسة على واقع القصية الطفلية، بعد أن تلمست المحاولات الأولى التي حققت قفزة نوعية في الإبداع لدى رواد هذا الفن، ومن تبعهم برؤى ابداعية حتى نهاية العقد الأول من القرن الحالي..
