صدرَتْ له، غير الدراسات الثقافية في الغناء والموسيقى العربيين، مجموعاتٌ شعرية ورواية.
حائز على جائزة الشعر العربي 2005 ـ من جريد الرياض بالمملكة العربية السعودية، صدرت له خمس مجموعات شعرية آخرها "أهوال العدو" (2009)، ودراسات في الثقافة العربية آخرها: "ما وراء الوجه: سياسات الكتابة وثقافات المقاومة" (2010)، وهو صاحب رواية "سورة الرياض" (2007) عن دار الفارابي التي حققت أعلى مبيعات في معرض الكتاب الدولي بالرياض 2008.
Book Description
"أهوال الصحو" ديوان شعري للشاعر السعودى "أحمد الواصل" الذى عُرف ناقداً وروائياً، وهو الديوان الخامس بين مجموعاته الشعرية. تتكون المجموعة من ثلاثة أقسام: هل الشهوة تنجى والذئب يفنى؟، ويغسلون بعينى ذنوبهم، والشهوة بئر العذاب.
المجموعة تحتوى على ستة وعشرين نصًا، على التوالى: وِحْدَةُ عَيْنَيْكَ وخُلُوْدى، وعَزَاءٌ نِفْطِى لِنِسَاءِ الخَلِيْج، ويوميَّات (شىء من الفزع، شىء من الحجر)، ويوميَّة لبنى، ويوميَّة أحمد، وأنا سعدية مفرِّح، وفى بحرك تقصى الإفصاح، ووجه العيون والأمانى، والنعوش الطائرة، وحركتان لكونشيرتو ضائع، وأهوال الصحو، ولا أحد يجيب، ودوائر المدفن، ولؤلؤة صياغة / أخرى، وجَمْر/ صياغة أخرى، وسيِّد المِعْطَف، وسفينة الجدائل، وإنه بعيد، ودوج لولو/ صياغة ثانية، وحَتْفُ جرير، ونصوص الموجة الضائعة، والجنى العاشق، ومدينة على الرصيف، وتسليم، ويحدث فى يوم، وطموح أحمر.
