تُرى، ما السّر في عطالتنا السياسية في حوّلتنا إلى موضوع طيّع للكذب والتضليل؟... لعلَّ الجزء الأكبر من عطالتنا هذه يرجع إلى أننا لحدّ الآن لم نحسم أمرنا في تحويل "اللاهوت السياسي" إلى فلسفة سياسية، والإنتقال من المجتمع الديني، بمطلقاته ومقدّساته ومحرّماته، إلى المجتمع المدني السياسي، حيث تسود الممكنات والعقلانيات، الحريات والتوافقات.
وهذا ما يعني أن أزمتنا ليست نابعة من عدمية من النوع الحداثي، وإنما صادرة عن عدمية من النوع التراثي، تتداخل فيها موجات الحداثة مع موجبات القدامة وقد تشوشت معها الرهانات حتى صرنا نطمح إلى بلوغ الحداثة عبر تجذير القدامة!...
هذه هي الإشكالية العامة التي تناولت جوانب منها بالقراءة والتحليل والنقاش في ورش هذا الكتاب، منطلقاً في النقاش من واقعة تعدد الأصوات في كل من التراث الثقافي والحداثة التنويرية عبر حوارٌ مفتوح ومعمّق مع فلاسفة حداثيين غربيين أمثال هوبز وكانط وهيغل وهيدغر وليو شتراوس وكويري وأرندت وهابرماس ودريدا... ومفكرين وفلاسفة عرب معاصرين كمحمد عزيز الحبابي وناصيف نصّار وعبد الله العروي.
كما أن القضايا التي تناولتها لا تنتمي إلى قضايا العقل النظري، بقدر ما تتصل بفلسفات السياسة والحقّ والثقافة والدين، وقضايا مجتمع المعرفة المعاصر، كقضايا التنوير والتعليم والجامعة والمعلوماتية، ومسائل الإيمان والحرية والحق في الإختلاف، وفي التعدّد الثقافي، وفي الكذب السياسي وفي الفعل بإسم الإنسانية... إلخ.
