يحتوي هذا الكتاب على مجموعة من التحذيرات هي بمثابة الإشارات السريعة لطلبة العلم الشرعي، وفيها لفت نظر لهم لمسائل كليات وضوابط مهمّات، فيما يخص هذا الكم الهائل من المؤلفات والمصنفات، لتتحصل لهم المراجعات، وتنكشف الضلالات، وتحل المشكلات، وليتسنى لهم الوقوف على مرجع فيه مادة علمية تخصّ العوام، فيعلموا على توصيلها لهم، ويحذروا بني قومهم مما يلزمهم مما هو بين أيديهم من تحذيرات حول المصنفات.
وخصصت هذه المجموعة -وهي الأولى- من الكتب التي تتعلق بثلاثة علوم وجعلت لكل علم فصلاً منفرداً وهي على النحو التالي: الفصل الأول: كتب العقيدة وفيه تحذير من ستين عنواناً، بعضها عن الزندقة والباطنية والإلحاد، وبعضها الآخر جاءت متحدثة عن التبنؤات والشعوذة والسحر والطلاسم والفلسفة وعلم الكلام... الفصل الثاني: كتب الفقه والدعوة السلفية، وفيه تحذير من مئتي عنوان.
الفصل الثالث: كتب الأخبار والأوائل والتاريخ، وفيه تحذير من مئة كتاب، الفصل الرابع: فيه تحذير من خمسين عنوناً: وفيه تم التعرض لأشهر الكتب التي كذبن على الصحابة والتابعين ومن بعدهم من العلماء العالمين، ثم تم مناقشة ما يدعيه بعض المطلعين والمثقفين من تشكيك في نسبة بعض الكتب الصحيحة لأصحابها، وبعد ذلك تم الحديث عن نسبة كتاب "الأم" للشافعي، والبرهان أنه له، كما وتم التنبيه في هذا الجزء على نشرات مكذوبة وباطلة، كما وتم فيه الحديث عن الوجه المكذوبة المنسوبة للشيخ أحمد (حامل مفاتيح حرم الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم).
